Scientific research has consistently shown that chiropractic care can be an effective treatment for children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). In a retrospective case series, chiropractic care was found to improve focus and social interaction, reduce learning disabilities, aggressive behaviors, and prescription medication use, and improve sleep quality and quantity (Alcantara & Davis, 2010). A systematic review also found that chiropractic care can be effective in reducing symptoms of ADHD in children and adolescents (Karpouzis et al., 2010).

But the benefits of chiropractic care for children with ADHD go beyond symptom reduction. In a case report, chiropractic care was found to improve overall quality of life in an 18-year-old adolescent with migraines, behavioral, and learning difficulties (Kuhn & Cambron, 2013). Additionally, research has shown that treating ADHD can lead to reduced medical costs, decreased child care costs, and fewer work days lost by parents (Pelham et al., 2007).

If you know a child or adolescent with ADHD, consider sharing this information with them and their caregiver. Chiropractic care may be an effective treatment option that can help improve focus, reduce symptoms, and improve overall quality of life. At Dopps Chiropractic, we are dedicated to helping our patients achieve their optimal health and well-being through chiropractic care. It's important to note that chiropractic care should be used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan for ADHD, and it's important to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new treatment. However, the research suggests that chiropractic care can be a valuable addition to the treatment of ADHD and may have a positive impact on overall health and well-being.
